This is not your average sports bar. We built The Slide In around proper food first: smash patties seared to order, sauces and pickles made in-house, fresh Vermont ingredients on every plate, and a draft list that rotates through the best local breweries. Whether you are here for the full ninety minutes, the fourth quarter, or just a slider and a pint, it is the kind of place you want to stay in.

(08) The Gaffer

From North London
to Shelburne Road

Joseph Fox grew up in the UK on Arsenal, terrace chants and proper pub food. He came to Vermont in 2017, played college soccer here, spent sixteen years in kitchens and behind bars, and kept noticing the same gap: a state full of soccer fans with nowhere that felt like home on a Saturday morning.

The Slide In opened on 28 March 2026 in a room that had sat empty since 2021, next door to the Soccer Post. It bills itself as Vermont's first-ever soccer bar — and by June, when England were playing, it was the loudest room in the state.
